If you choose the story mode, then it is you against the computer in one-on-one battles that you need to keep winning with your character, advancing the storyline through your victories, but if you choose the 1p vs 2p mode, you have single fights against members of your family or maybe friends, using the same computer.
Of course, fighting is done in a classic way, meaning you have to deplete your opponent's health bar first to reach victory, using punches, kicks, and special moves.
Player 1 uses the ARROW keys as well as X, V, and C while Player 2 uses 2, 4, 6, and 8 from the numeric keyboard and I, P, and O. The first set of keys are for moving, the other one for fighting.
