To make points you have to take the block jewels and place them on the board in such a way that you form full rows of them from left to right or up to down, which is when that row of jewels gets eliminated, and in return you get points. The blocks come in various shapes and sizes, so figure out their best placement on the boards.
The more points you can score with fewer moves, the better, but know that if you can no longer make any moves, you lose.
