Pokemon Silver is the companion Nintendo game to Pokemon Gold! They belong to the second generation of Pokemon Games, and together with Gold they feature 100 new Pokemon. They have mostly the same story, but if you want to complete the Pokedex in this generation, you need to have played both! Well, since you've played Gold, why not give this one a chance too?

Pick out your character's name, and then begin your journey through Johto, the new region, with this game being set three years later than the events of red and blue. Here, you go on an adventure to catch pocket monsters, battle other trainers, and, hopefully, defeat the evil members of Team Rocket, who want to capture the Legendary Pokemon! You do it before them!

Not only can you create your character, but through the game, you can and should interact with other characters. Start off with the Professor, who gives you the chance to pick your starter Pokemon from these three:

Chikorita
Cyndaquil
Totodile

Find other trainers and challenge them. Interact with NPC characters to learn where you can find new monsters to capture, or learn about the whereabouts of your enemies! Defeat the eight gym leaders if you want to become the top Pokemon trainer in the region!

Catch the new Pokemon!

To catch Pokemon, you need to battle them, as you find them in the wild. From untrained beasts, dominate them and add them to your team! Battle a monster and get it to near defeat. Then, throw the Pokeball at it to capture it. Throw as many as needed to capture it.

Most Pokemon can also evolve. If you battle with them to gain enough EXP points, and experience points, you can transform them into stronger versions of themselves! Do it so that you are a stronger trainer as well!

Use strategy in the turn-based Pokemon battles!

When battling with trainers, each of you will move one after the other, in turns. Select Pokemon from your balls, and throw them in battle. Choose the right attacks to deal damage, and use defensive moves when you are being attacked.

Combine offense with defense, and regenerate health with the potions to gain the upper hand! Be smart, and you will win! Are you ready? Let's catch them all, and become the new top trainer!
