18 1066 is a real-time strategy war game online set during this time period where you have to lead your army to victory! Win or die!
How to play 1066
Start off by choosing the nation you want to represent and the army that you want to lead:
- The English
- The Vikings
- The Normals
Defeat your enemy army by killing them off or by scaring them away. Combine the two strategies to be most effective and ensure victory!
Learn the Battlefield!
At the top of it you can find the Battle View, where you see the action unfold.
Down below you see the battle map where you make decisions.
Use the Army Info Panels and Mini-Games from that part of the screen as well.
- With the Up and Down arrows you see the different rows of the map.
- With the Right and Left arrows you will scroll the battlefield.
Keep a watch on your army's stats!
Make sure to take note of all these things when making a strategy:
- unit info
- army morale
- army info
- game timer
- unit icon
- mini-games
Make the most of each round!
Each army gets a round of attack where you will go through 2 phases:
- Selecting the Commands
- Executing the Commands
The commands you can use are:
- Move
- Fire, to attack
- Taunt, to lower enemy morale
- Fortify, to upgrade your defenses
- Break, to break formations into individual units
The most effective way to win is to move and attack your enemies successfully in succession.
Play the mini-games!
- Archery: click and drag to aim and shoot arrows on your enemies.
- Combat: hit cursor keys to inflict damage on your opponents.
- Taunt: type out insults to damage enemy's morale.
- Charge: tap space repeatedly and fast to build up power and smash foes.
Useful battle formations to know:
- The Boar's Snout to break strong defensive lines.
- A Shield-Wall to protect yourselves.
